What does Bing.vc do?

The creators of Bing.vc might be responsible for the release of other browser hijackers. Even though it is unknown if Qone8 or Qvo6 hijackers were designed by the same people, they sure work in the same way that Bing.vc does. According to our research, Beijing MSYT Technology Co.,Ltd is the publisher of this threat, but Goltech (goltech.com) is involved as well. This company is identified as a distributor of this hijacker, as its installer can be hidden within bundles promoted via it. Even though we do not want to put the blame on Goltech, you certainly have to be careful. If you download software from unreliable sources, it is only a matter of time before a serious threat jumps at you. Bing.vc itself is not considered to be a serious threat, but only because it cannot download malware or directly threaten your virtual identity. Nonetheless, this infection can expose you to modified search results, which might be dangerous. On top of that, it can download cookies to spy on you.

The links to Facebook, Twitter, moviescapital.com, and other sites might not be malicious, but it is difficult to predict how this program will work if it was updated. If you do not want to figure this out – and you should not – it is best that you delete the unreliable browser hijacker from your browsers ASAP.

Should you delete Bing.vc?
