SkyEmoji

What is SkyEmoji?

SkyEmoji is a cleverly disguised adware program that we think you should remove. It masquerades as a Skype emoticon inserting application. It works as intended and should be compatible with the latest Skype versions. However, the program is bound to display a fair share of advertisements, because that is how its creators make money. The developers target users who like lots of bells and whistles on their computers. SkyEmoji features unique emoticons that are not normally displayed on Skype. But, nevertheless, they are there and you can use them without installing this low-grade adware program.testtesttest 100% FREE spyware scan and

How does SkyEmoji work?

The way this application works is pretty simple. You have to click its icon on the Taskbar and the emoticon window will appear. If your Skype version is compatible you should be able to click and insert the secret emoticons in your chat window, because otherwise, it will display a message “Please make sure skype is forground.” Basically, that is all there is to this application. It would be useful if it was not for the obnoxious advertisements, because typing the emoticons yourself is annoying.

However, SkyEmoji is not the answer, because it shows pesky advertisements that just will not leave you be. The application will display sensationalist clickbait advertisements that might redirect you to unreliable websites. It might also show fictitious messages that claim that your operating system has a lot of errors. If you choose to click the ad, you might get redirected to a website that hosts downloads of potentially unwanted software, such as useless registry cleaners.

Where does SkyEmoji come from?

Our researchers say that SkyEmoji was developed by a company called Montiera Ltd, which specializes in developing adware. The company’s official website is Montiera.com. However, SkyEmoji has its own dedicated website at Skyemoji.com. The website also hosts a standalone download of this application. However, it can still be found bundled with malicious software on websites that host downloads of pirated material.

If you have downloaded the application from the website, the installation wizard will inform you that the software is ad-supported. Before you begin installing this application the installation wizard will offer you to set your browser’s default homepage to Yahoo.com. However, it will actually change your homepage to a search engine called Only-search.com, which shows commercial advertisements, and, therefore, is unreliable.

How do I remove SkyEmoji?

As you can see, SkyEmoji is not all that useful. Having a secret emoticon window is a great idea, but the fact that this application shows unreliable ads that are quite aggressive and intrusive makes it undesirable. There is just no telling where you might get redirected. Therefore, we suggest that you remove SkyEmoji using the instructions below. However, you will also have to change your homepage address manually, since uninstalling this application will not restore it.
