What is webssearches.com?
Webssearches.com is a malicious browser hijacker. Unfortunately, many computer users believe that this is a regular search engine which can provide authentic search results. Did you install this search tool onto Chrome, Firefox and IE browsers yourself? It is most likely that you have not, in which case there is no reason why you should trust it. Needless to say, Anti-Spyware-101.com researchers recommend that you remove Webssearches.com from the browsers. The suspicious search provider may connect to the Internet without your permission and then display various commercial advertisements. Even though it is impossible to identify which of these ads are authentic and which are not, we do not recommend clicking on any of them if you wish to prevent potential security breaches.
How does Webssearches.com work?
Once the clandestine Webssearches.com hijacker is installed onto your personal computer, you might discover that the home page of all existing browsers has been changed to istart.webssearches.com. If you use the search tool, you will be presented with the search.webssearches.com search results. As you may have noticed yourself, ‘Ads related’ search results are presented as well, and virtual security experts identify these as commercial advertisements. The developer of the search tool is EMG Technology Limited, and you should not rush to blame the company for the unauthorized activity. Unfortunately, the distribution could be a responsibility of unfamiliar and undisclosed parties. Therefore, you should not be surprised to find that the publisher of the hijacker is identified as websearches. You might notice this if your browsers are hijacked by aartemis.com, qone8.com, nationzoom.com and other similar hijackers.
The suspicious browser hijacker Webssearches.com usually travels bundled with Quick Start (or SupTab). This browser extension is installed silently to activate a backdoor to other suspicious search tools. It is also notable that you could be redirected to search.webssearches.com via the Quick Start tab linked to the recently reported browser hijacker Key-find.com.
