DigiSmirkz Toolbar

What is DigiSmirkz Toolbar?

DigiSmirkz Toolbar is an application that was created by Mindspark Interactive Network, the same company that has built ConvertPDFsNow Toolbar, DirectionsBuilder Toolbar, MyDigitalCalendar Toolbar, and a ton of other suspicious toolbars. Although the toolbars themselves are not malicious, they can modify your homepage and default search provider settings, which is the main reason why they are considered to be potentially unreliable. Even if the changes are made with your notice and permission, it is unlikely that that is done to your benefit. For one, the search results that are shown to you are actually taken from the popular Google Search. Needless to say, we advise installing the popular search tool instead of using one that is only capable of introducing you to recycled search results. There is no point in using such a tool. Of course, MyWay – the search provider – has a reason to use the popular Google Search, and we discuss this in the report. How does DigiSmirkz Toolbar work?

You can download DigiSmirkz Toolbar from its official website digismirkz.com/index.jhtml (Chrome users are routed to chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/digismirkz/fhibenoomgnppdhbjaephephkddnokof). Did you download the toolbar from its official website? It is more likely that you have been introduced to it by a third-party installer that might have showed up via an attractive pop-up advertisement. Even legitimate, reliable programs are often distributed by malicious parties because they use them to conceal more unreliable or less popular software. Unfortunately, it is also possible that DigiSmirkz Toolbar was installed along with malware. Even if software packaged along with this hijacker is not incredibly malicious, you want to know exactly what you are dealing with. Click the link below to acquire a free scanner that will inspect your operating system and list the malware that exists. Look up the threats found to see if more unreliable software is present. If it is, figure out how to remove it first. If you are lucky, other infections will not be found, but that is likely to happen only if you use the original installer on the official website.

As you can see, the search tool represented via DigiSmirkz Toolbar is “enhanced by Google.” What does that mean? That means that MyWay uses the Google search engine to display search results. As we have already discussed, this makes the search tool look quite inefficient. There’s more to it. It is quite possible that MyWay has chosen to use Google Search to make you trust the results shown more. If the tool displays sponsored links, that might increase the chances of you interacting with them, and, in return, a bigger profit is generated. It is also possible that the toolbar earns money every time you interact with the easy-access links routing to welcome.motitags.com, tumblr.com, macys.com, amazon.com, groupon.com, and other sites. It is also possible that these sites are added simply to make the toolbar appear more attractive. Whatever the case might be, you have to think carefully if DigiSmirkz Toolbar offers beneficial services and if you should keep it installed. Maybe you should remove it and install a better, more reliable alternative?
