Bronze Aid

What is Bronze Aid?

Have you noticed ads showing up on the sites you visit? Bronze Aid is an advertising-supported program that might be responsible for that. This adware was created by Pulse Rate using the infamous Injekt engine. Although it is unlikely that you are familiar with this engine, our research team here at Anti-Spyware-101.com has analyzed quite a few programs created using it. These programs include Discovery App, Record Page, and Glass Bottle, and it is essential to eliminate them. It is unlikely that you will find any of the clones attached to the suspicious ad-supported program; however, it is almost guaranteed that it will come packaged with other programs. If you are researching the removal of Bronze Aid, the chances are that you also need to eliminate other threats, which is why we believe that the first thing that every user should do is scan their computers. Regardless of what kind of results you find, this is the report that you should read to find more about malware.testtesttest

How does Bronze Aid work?

Bronzeaid.com is not a very useful site. At first sight, it seems that this website provides only two useless links; the first to the homepage and the second one to a Contact form. If you decide to contact the creator of the suspicious advertising-supported program, you will disclose your name, phone number, and email address. Considering that the creator of Bronze Aid is extremely suspicious, we do not advise contacting it because your personal details could be leaked or used to expose you to further scams. Of course, because the website does not offer an installer, it is unlikely that many users are familiar with it. Nevertheless, it is useful in one very important way. This website provides a Privacy Policy that tells a lot about this adware. For one, the information within this document lets you know that cookies, beacons, pixels, and other “data tracking technologies” can be used to spy on you. Furthermore, this document reveals that third parties are involved. Unknown parties serve advertisements and employ their own cookies to track your activity. Because these parties are unknown, trusting them can be dangerous.

Once installed, Bronze Aid connects to remote servers that allow injecting ads. It is possible that this adware will connect to hdapp1008-a.akamaihd.net and bronzeaid-a.akamaihd.net to download scripts enabling the presentation ads. Then this adware connects to remote adware servers to show specific ads that are often hosted on behalf of third parties. In fact, it is difficult to say who could use a particular adware server, which means that the ad-injection is completely unpredictable. What if the ads shown to you were created to scam you and trick you into downloading more malicious programs? This is our main concern and the main reason why you should eliminate this adware without further hesitation. If you choose to remove this adware one component at a time, first check which browsers it has invaded.

How to delete Bronze Aid

Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox users will find this adware installed in a folder under C:\Program Files (or C:\Program Files (x86)). Firefox@www.bronzeaid.com.xpi is one of the files within the folder that Firefox users will need to get rid of in order to remove Bronze Aid. It is possible that this adware is compatible with the Google Chrome browser as well. If that were the case, you might have to remove files found under C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions. You can also uninstall this advertising-supported program from your Windows operating system as shown in the simple guide below. Although this option is much more straightforward, you will need to delete a few leftovers anyhow. Once you uninstall this adware, delete the files and registry entries associated with it to complete the operation. Now, this is the easy part. The elimination of third party software, on the other hand, can be much more complicated, but we do not want to predict anything, considering that we do not know which programs could have slithered in along with the adware. If you find yourself struggling, and if you want to reinforce your virtual security, install antimalware software.
