DSSAgent was designed to facilitate product updates, and allowed vendors to push out updates at any time. DSSAgent came bundled with Brøderbund and Learning Company titles. Once installed, DSSAgent had the ability of sending over 10,000 DNS requests in 15 minutes. As a result, DSSAgent often slowed network traffic as well as CPU processing.
