Worm Removal
A worm is a type of virus that replicates by resending itself as an e-mail attachment or as part of a network message. Unlike a regular computer virus, a worm is self-contained and does not need to be part of another program to duplicate itself. A worm hides in active memory and performs malicious acts, such as using parts of the computer’s system resources. Worms are usually invisible to the user and are designed to affect the computer’s performance. A worm take control of remote systems without any help from the users and can delete files, send documents via email, or encrypt files.
Signs Your Computer Has Worm (Run Automatic Worm Check with SpyHunter)
If you experience even one of the Worm symptoms listed below, you may have Worm in your computer.
Excessive Pop-up Advertisements
Worm may bombard you with pop-up ads which are often related to adult or other objectionable web sites. Pop-ups can make your computer completely useless and cause huge system crashes. Worm prevents you from doing your regular computer tasks and may track your surfing habits as well as your personal information. If you see pop-up ads when you turn on your computer or when you’re not even browsing the Web, you may have Worm or other unwanted parasites on your computer.
Slow Computer Performance
Worm may slow down your computer’s performance because it uses your hard drive’s resources to perform it’s tasks of delivering pop-up ads and sending information (user activity, screenshots, keystroke logs) to a third-party server. If your computer is taking long periods to reboot or causing system crashes, your computer may be infected with Worm.
New Toolbars, Desktop Shortcuts, & Unwanted Search Results
Computer hijackers can use Worm to change your search results to direct you to websites they want you to see instead of what you actually searched for. Worm can also add new toolbars to Internet Explorer without your knowledge. Even if you know how to manually remove malicious programs such as Worm, they may return each time you restart your computer.
