What is a rogue anti-spyware program?

VirusHeat is a rogue anti-spyware program.

A rogue anti-spyware program is a program that uses spyware and other deceptive tools to trick you into purchasing their fake spyware remover. A rogue anti-spyware software will install a trojan on your machine to download the software. You’ll know you’re being tricked if you go to a website and an ad pops up that looks like a Windows notification message. Once you click on the ad’s OK button, this will direct you to the software’s website. In other cases, simply by clicking the cancel or close button can start the rogue anti-spyware program’s installation. Often, a rogue anti-spware program will display false positives (nonexistent spyware) when you use their spyware scanner. Some rogue anti-spyware software, like VirusHeat will automatically download the trial version without your knowledge.

How do I know I have VirusHeat on my computer?

Good question! The first step in detecting and removing VirusHeat is by asking yourself whether or not your computer has been infected. VirusHeat, as well as other unwanted software, can be difficult to detect and even more difficult to remove but knowing the VirusHeat symptoms can start you on the road to having a VirusHeat-free computer.

VirusHeat Symptoms

If you answer “yes” to any of the VirusHeat symptoms listed below, you may have VirusHeat or other types of parasites installed on your computer. Keep in mind that the symptoms of VirusHeat and other unwanted software infections vary.

VirusHeat may install without your knowledge or consent. Downloading shareware/freeware software or visiting questionable websites might lead to a VirusHeat infection. Once installed, VirusHeat can compromise your privacy by transmitting your personal information and downloading popup advertisements.

VirusHeat may monitor your surfing habits. Once installed, VirusHeat or other types of parasites can do almost anything. It can tracks which websites you visited or what terms you’ve typed. Spyware uses your information to deliver targeted ads to you. Also, data of your surfing activities may be sold to third parties.

VirusHeat may bombard you with popup ads. VirusHeat may display annoying popups while you surf the Web. You might have VirusHeat or other types of parasites on your computer if you see pop-up advertising, even when you are not on the Web or when your computer has been idle for many minutes.

VirusHeat may hijack, redirect and change your Web browser. When your Web browser’s home page unexpectedly changes without your consent or your Web browser suddenly closes or stops responding, you might be infected with VirusHeat. Also, in other cases new toolbars appear on your Web browser and you can’t get rid of it.

Slow computer performance. A sluggish computer is one of the easiest signs that you have been infected with VirusHeat. VirusHeat and other unwanted sofware use your computer’s resources to do its nasty tasks such as displaying popups or tracking your surfing activities. If you see your computer is slowing down dramatically or crashing a lot, you may be infected with an unwanted software.

Help! I have VirusHeat. What do I do?

Your privacy has been compromised and you no longer have control over your computer. What do you do? You panic and try to search for the number of a computer repair company? No! The best approach is to find a reliable anti-spyware program to run a spyware check. Once the anti-spyware software has identified the harmful files, you can easily remove all the files with a click of a button.

If you’re not computer savy and you think you’ve been infected with VirusHeat, download SpyHunter VirusHeat scanner to automatically check for any VirusHeat files.

Also, we recommend that you DO NOT reformat your computer, reformatting should be your last resort. Reformatting will erase the contents of your hard-drive and you’ll have to reinstall every software you had before.

    grape,

SpyHunter should remove VirusHeat as well. But if you\’ll have any problems with this infection removal after purchasing the full version, the support team of SpyHunter will help you as soon as possible. You may also use our Manual VirusHeat Removal Instructions or if you\’re not a computer expert, you may scan your system with our free scanner and it will show you the locations of the infected files. Afterwards boot your computer in Safe Mode and remove the infected files. Otherwise, use a reliable anti-spyware program.

  3. Buffy Says:

I have already established that I have the spyware from Virus Heat 4.0 on my computer. All the free spyware tools you download will scan and detect them, but they will not remove them unless you buy the program. Correct me if I am wrong, I already have spyware waiting for me to use a credit card online, why would I compromise my security any further by purchasing anything until this is removed from my computer? Any suggestions? I have followed many different instructions, and I still have the trojan(s).

  4. GirlInterrupted Says:

    Buffy,

VirusHeat won’t steal your personal information (credit card, passwords and etc.). The main purpose of the makers of VirusHeat is to lure you into buying their software. But there may be any other parasites on your computer, that may collect your sensitive information. The best advise is to buy a reliable anti-spyware from another computer and install it on the infected computer. Afterwards, scan and remove the infected files.

  7. perdyfredi Says:

hi, i would like to be able to remove security toolbar 7.1 and virusheat for free, already tried removing it manually, but it tells me that the files dont exist..need help, can anyone give me a hand please???
    Thanks!

  8. larry Says:

Yes, I to have this damned thing called virusheat flashing a system alert on my computer also. I wish someone who knows how to get rid of this pest would come to the rescue.

  9. AdGoddess Says:

I thought I was downloading music. I was wrong. Now I’ve run the newest version of Ad Aware twice, for all the good it did. VirusHeat tried another tactic while I was running my anti-viral (which it partially hijacked), it started running the same program over and over to use up CPU space.
Now I get to manually remove everything all my anti-spyware and anti-virus and registry cleaners missed. Yaay!
