How does Search Donkey act?

This Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome browser plugin is available from the official web site searchdonkeyapp.com. Of course, the application could have entered the computer alongside freeware as well. Even though this activity is quite suspicious, you should note that there are plenty of authentic programs which are distributed this way. Note that you should be informed that additional programs are being installed onto your computer, and if this is not the case, it is likely that you are dealing with spyware. Overall, if you suspect anything dubious – remove the undesirable program without further delay.

The Privacy Policy of Search Donkey disclaims that the application may use cookies and third-party assistance to collect information about your browsing habits and to provide you with allegedly beneficial advertisements. Here is an excerpt:

We may use the information you provide to us, and information we collect about your use of the Search Donkey App through cookies and other technologies, to assist us in delivering you relevant ads when you use the Search Donkey App. We may work with third party advertising networks and advertisers who help deliver these ads to you.

Needless to say, if you do not want information regarding your browsing habits shared with third parties, you should delete the browser plugin from your personal computer. Note that in some cases third-party affiliates could have malicious intensions, which may lead to the exposure of misleading advertisements. If your operating Windows system is not guarded by automatic spyware detection and removal software, you should not click on any suspicious ads as this could open Windows security backdoors. If cyber crooks managed to employ this for spyware infiltration, you may need to worry about further removal procedures.
