Haters Ransomware

What is Haters Ransomware?

Haters Ransomware is a program similar to FuckTheSystem Ransomware. Both of them probably come from the same creators and are equally dangerous, so you should remove them. Like its counterpart, Haters Ransomware was designed to encrypt your personal files. However, it does not drop a ransom note or ask you to pay money. It just encrypts your files and leaves them like that. The good news is that the developers have made a grave error of including the decryption key in the source code. The key is included in this article, so if your PC has become infected with this ransomware, you might want to read this article.testtest

Where does Haters Ransomware come from?

Evidently, the developers of this ransomware are not known, but our researchers have concluded that it this secretive developer has also created FuckTheSystem Ransomware which is nearly identical to this new ransomware. Therefore, it is entirely possible that we will see new releases from this developer as it seems to be an up and coming developer.

While there is no information about how Haters Ransomware is being distributed, our researchers think that it is likely that it is distributed in malicious emails that are sent from a dedicated server to a preset list of email addresses obtained using dishonest methods. The emails are likely to contain this program’s main executable zipped and names as invoice.rar or something of this nature. Inside the file archive, you may find a file with a double extension that looks like a PDF document, but is an executable, in fact. If you extract and run the executable, then it will start encrypting your personal files.

What does Haters Ransomware do?

Our malware researchers say that this ransomware was configured to encrypt your files with an AES encryption algorithm. Now, this algorithm is pretty strong, so decrypting it, depending on the ransomware, is not always easy. Haters Ransomware is capable of encrypting many file formats that include but are not limited to .3gp, .7z, .apk, .avi, .bmp, .cdr, .cer, .chm, xps, .xml, .ckp, .zip, .java, and many others. As per usual, this ransomware is set to target files that can contain personal information to cause as much damage. It appends the encrypted files with the “.haters” extension. Once the encryption is complete, this ransomware renders a window that says that “Your Files Are Encrypted.” The window features a line to enter the decryption key. However, it leaves no ransom note, and there is no way of knowing how to purchase the key.

Luckily, Haters Ransomware was developed by cyber criminals that are not too bright. They have configured this ransomware to accept only one decryption key. As if that was not enough, they included the decryption key in the source code that our malware researchers managed to extract after dissecting Haters Ransomware. The decryption key is “masihmaubullyguaanjeng” without quotation marks. So if your PC has been infected with this particular ransomware, then this decryption key should do the charm and decrypt all of your files.
