Clicon

What is Clicon?

Our security researchers classify Clicon as adware. It doesn’t seem to be a stand-alone application because it is closely related to Cyclon Gems. The point is that Clicon needs to be removed from your computer along with all associated programs because it is not safe. We are not trying to say that this application is an extreme computer security threat, but adware is very vulnerable to third-party exploitation, and you cannot afford to go through it with Clicon. Delete this application by following the manual instructions, and stay away from unfamiliar websites that offer you various benefits as they might be fake.testtesttest 100% FREE spyware scan and

Where does Clicon come from?

The reason we urge users to stay away from unfamiliar websites is that Clicon and other adware applications are often distributed via third-party sites that never check whether the installer files they host are reliable or not.

Technically, Cyclon Gems can be downloaded from cyclone-gems.com, and we assume that Clicon gets downloaded automatically with the main adware application. These programs are obviously targeted at computer users in Spain, although it is very common that such apps overstep their initial boundaries and spread far wider.

As far as Clicon itself is concerned, there are several variations of this application, others being Clicup and Clickon. Whichever you might have installed on your PC, the bottom line is that you need to get rid of it before it manages to expose you to potentially harmful content.

What does Clicon do?

Unlike most of the adware programs, Clicon does not employ any extension to collect information on your web browsing history. Instead, the application makes use of clicon.exe and clicup.exe services that run in the system background to monitor your web browsing habits.

Clicon loads automatically whenever you turn on your computer. When it has enough data to generate your online profile, you will start seeing commercial advertisements on a number of websites you visit. The problem is that Clicon can replace authorized ads with its own, and you can never know whether you click an ad that is reliable or not.

We always stress that adware should not be allowed to remain on your computer even if it is not an extremely malicious threat. Hence, you need to delete Clicon as soon as possible.

How to do I remove Clicon?

It is fortunate that we can uninstall Clicon via Control Panel. On the other hand, manual removal does not ensure that all unwanted files get removed. Therefore, it is necessary to invest in a computer security program that will scan your PC and detect all the potential threats (if any).
