Browser Protect

What is Browser Protect?

Our researchers at Anti-Spyware-101.com have classified Browser Protect as an adware type program that is unreliable in nature. It is recommended that you remove this malicious application, because the advertisements it promotes could lead to your computer's getting infected with additional malware. The adware is known to be used by various shady entities to promote misleading and oftentimes fictitious advertisements. However, the program is advertised as a legitimate application that warns you about malicious links while you surf the web.testtesttest 100% FREE spyware scan and

What does Browser Protect do?

It is claimed that Browser Protect keeps you out of harm’s way by warning you when it recognizes a dangerous website that can cause damage. However, the application actually subjects you to unreliable content in the form of advertisements, which for the most part are supplied by various third parties. You ought to remove this application from your computer because it promotes advertisements that could redirect you to infected websites — websites which might also infect your computer with dangerous malicious applications, such as keyloggers, Trojans, rootkits, spyware, and so on. Note that the aforementioned infections will be impossible to remove manually and might even pose a challenge to some anti-malware scanners.

The infection is advertised on its dedicated website at Browser-protect.com, which contains a download link. However, at the time of this article the download did not seem to work, but, if it does in the future, we, of course, do not recommend downloading and installing it. Furthermore, the infection could be bundled with freeware found on various freeware-distributing websites such as Soft32.com and Softpedia.com. We recommend that you always opt for advanced installation settings and remove programs such as Browser Protect from the installation process by unchecking the relevant checkboxes.

How do I remove Browser Protect?

There are several ways you can remove this program from your computer. The first one is to delete it using our manual removal guide provided at the bottom of this article. You will need to go to Control Panel and uninstall Browser Protect from the list of applications. However, you will have to manually uninstall the browser extension from Firefox and Internet Explorer. Our researchers recommend using SpyHunter, since it is fully capable of dealing with both minor and severe security threats.
