Bargains

What is Bargains?

Bargains is an application that promises to show you better deals while you shop online and save your money too. However, if you downloaded the program believing it will do as it promises; we have to disappoint you, because it is an adware application that probably was created to generate advertising revenue from your clicks. In fact, it is very similar to BuzzDeal that is also supposed to display exclusive deals, but it shows third-party ads. Bargains is an extension that can be added to the Google Chrome browser, but you will not find it in the Chrome Web Store. It may be that it was removed after the complaints from users or bad reviews. We would advise you to remove it from your browser too, because the application might by risky to use, especially when the ads come from unreliable sources.testtesttest

How does Bargains work?

After the application is installed you can see it in the list with other extensions that are visible in the Google Chrome’s settings or in its main folder on your system. Most of the ads will appear while checking items on e-stores, such as ebay.com, amazon.com, and so on. Since the application gathers your search keywords and other data related to your browsing, it should be able to display targeted ads. It means that the ads will be shown based on your interests. Although they might seem very tempting, it would be better to avoid such ads.

Bargains promotes lots of different third-party products and the advertisements could redirect you to their websites. We cannot say that all of them could be harmful, but some of the ads might lead you to malicious sites with viruses, Trojans, and other threats. Another possibility is that the sites could promote other suspicious applications, e.g. browser hijackers, potentially unwanted programs, etc. Furthermore, these sites could try to gather your sensitive information, e.g. they could ask to enter email address or telephone number to register for some free services, trials, and other offers. These are only a few examples, but it should be enough for you to understand how dangerous third-party websites may be.

Where does Bargains come from?

Most likely, Bargains is spread in doubtful file-sharing sites that bundle their software installers with other programs, such as adware, browser hijackers, etc. When you launch the bundled installer and a setup wizard shows up, these extra programs should be shown together with their terms of use. If you do not want to install it you can reject it, although some users rush to finish installation and do not pay close attention to what is suggested, so you could have installed it accidentally too.

How to remove Bargains
